Newport State Park is one of the darkest places in Wisconsin and is ideal for night sky watching. Natural phenomena such as the Northern Lights and meteor showers are on full display against the blackened sky. Newport is one of 18 Dark Sky Parks in the United States and only the second one in the Midwest. Bring your bug spray, blankets, or chairs to parking lots 1 or 3 after sunset for a spectacular show or view them while camping in one of the rustic campsites.
