Baileys Harbor Boreal Forest and Wetlands has a cold microclimate that allows northern forests, plants and animals to thrive further south than anywhere else in Wisconsin. This State Natural Area has several miles of unmarked, unmaintained trails including those that lead to 1.5 miles of undeveloped Lake Michigan shoreline with a bedrock beach. These trails are for experienced hikers with good navigational skills. No facilities.
