There are two ferries on the northern tip of the Door County Coastal Byway, one departing from Northport pier and the other from Gills Rock that connect the Byway and the Door Peninsula to Washington Island 30 minutes away. The Washington Island Ferry conveys passengers, vehicles and freight while the Island Clipper transports only passengers. Passengers can delight in awe-inspiring views of some of the 300 miles of Door County coastline as well as picturesque lighthouses and smaller islands while traveling through Lake Michigan waters.
