Newport State Park is Wisconsin’s only official wilderness state park where hiking, biking and wildlife viewing occur among pristine forests, wetlands and meadows. Only backpack camping is allowed. Newport State Park is one of the darkest places in Wisconsin and is ideal for night sky watching. In Winter, there are approximately 26 miles of trails for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. Visit the quiet side!
A Wisconsin State Park vehicle admission sticker is required on all motor vehicles parked at state parks and trails.
